Passaic Valley Coaches

The Summit-New Providence Bus Lines was formed by Micheal De Corso and his wife Lucy 30 years prior to the formation of Passaic Valley Coach Lines which was incorporated on March 31, 1967.

In 1980, we purchased the Charter Bus Rights issued by the ICC in 1980 and expanded those rights to 48 states of operation from New Jersey. The authroity was transfered to Passaic Valley in 1982 and in 1984 the Summit-New Providence Bus Lines ceased charter operations.

PVCL started with a 1967 GMC surburban style FishBowl with one of the earliest installed bathrooms and underloaders for luggage.(very-very-very small space compared to today's standards) 1969 saw a new model Prevost trading in the GMC. In 1975, we added an MC-8 and in 1976 we traded the Prevost for another MC-8. In 1980, we added an MC-9 coach and slowly grew from there.

By the fall of 1990, Conover bus company was dissolved and PVCL acquired its customers, parts and supplies and purchased three coaches. Since then PVCL has operated eight (8) coaches in what turned out to be a good bus market area by combining the PVCL and Conover customer base. (Conover was a very helpful company when PVCL began and both companies prospered from the experience knowledge and contacts company brought to the table.)

Today PVCL operates a primarily Prevost manufactured fleet of eight coaches with the purchase of a new coach every 2 years. (See our vehicles page to see a complete photo list of our current vehicles!)This affords us an average coach age of 6 years and keeps us up to date with todays technology and safety within the motorcoach industry.
