Must-See Attractions in New Jersey for Summer 2019

Summer is approaching fast, and we are all worried about the same thing - how are we going to spend our summer this year? Well, if you are one of us, then you have come to the right place; the travel specialists at our New Jersey group transportation service have compiled a comprehensive list of some of the best places and attractions to see this summer in the Garden State.

As we let you in on all the amazing attractions you will find in New Jersey, we would also like to recommend contracting the services of our New Jersey day trips service for all your summer excursions. Let our professionally trained chauffeurs take the wheel as you enjoy the luxury amenities of our vehicles, revel in the company of your friends/family, and look forward to arriving at any one of these amazing locations. Now, here are some of the Garden State’s most popular attractions for summer 2019.

Battlefield State Park

The Battlefield State Park is located along Business Route 33 in Manalapan Township, one of the prettiest small towns in the state. The townships are rich with history and are also home to Ivy League University, Princeton. At Battlefield State Park you will get to check out the battlefield where the Battle of Monmouth was waged during the American Revolutionary War. You will also get to enjoy the Ionic Colonnade, designed by Thomas U. Walter, who also designed the United States Capitol Building. Other attractions include a stone patio marking the grave sites of the 15 Americans and 12 British soldiers killed during the battle.

Lakota Wolf Preserve

You will find the Lakota Wolf Preserve along Mt. Pleasant Road in Columbia. If you are fascinated by wolves as much as we are then this is just the place for you. Schedule a visit to the preserve this summer and learn all about the habits of these mysterious creatures; their wolf packs, interactions with people, mating, and much more. This is a truly amazing experience to have with the entire family, so tag them along.

Paterson Great Falls

Visit the Paterson Great Falls located along McBride Avenue in Paterson. This is a magnificent 77-foot waterfall located right in the middle of Paterson. You can choose to have a guided tour or you can choose to go it alone and simply tour the grounds solo. There is also a pedestrian bridge running right over the waterfall and the experience here is simply exhilarating. The pedestrian bridge is, however, often closed for maintenance, so be sure to check out their website in order to plan your visit for a time when the bridge is open. Nonetheless, whether you get to walk over the bridge or not, you will still get to enjoy amazing views of the falls and their surroundings.

Wild West City

This is a Theme park located in Byram Township along Lackawanna Drive. If you like cowboys, here is your chance to bring out that inner cowboy or cowgirls and tour the deep west. Wild West City is undoubtedly one of the best places to tour this summer. The theme park is rooted in rich history and family values that will create an unforgettable experience for you and the gang. Go back in time and engage in activities that have at their core the timeless ‘good over evil’ theme, where justice always prevails, and all the good guys emerge victoriously. The Wild West City is probably the only remaining spec of the frontier that courageously and unwaveringly shaped the spirit of America.

Cape May

Cape May is most commonly known for the popular Cape May public beach, but there is so much more to this historic town than one beach. Cape May is a must-visit this summer; the town is located on the southernmost part of New Jersey and no matter where you reside, Cape May is certainly worth the drive. It exudes a small-town vibe, which is perfect for anyone who just wants to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Here you will find gorgeous beaches, chic restaurants, and beautifully colored Victorian-style houses. While you are here, we also recommend visiting the Cape May Zoo, going on a dolphin watching cruise and enjoying some crab fries at the Ugly Mug. There is something for everyone in Cape May, which is why you should make it a point to visit this summer.

Medieval Times

Medieval Times is a dinner theatre located along Polito Avenue in Lyndhurst. Cheer for your favorite knight as you enjoy some delicious food. This eatery takes you back to the medieval ages where kings and queens still ruled, nobles still owned the land, and knights still jousted. Nothing is more exciting than witnessing an actual jostling contest with horses, costumes, armor, the works; it makes you feel like you just got lost in time.

Sandy Hook

This list would not be complete without mentioning at least one beach; it is summer, after all. The Sandy Hook Beach is located in Sandy Hook. The beach is a beautiful sandy paradise that extends for about 7 miles and there are numerous activities for you and the entire family to enjoy. You can either hang out at the shore or play with the water and sand or you could take a stroll or ride a bike on the bike path that leads all the way to the edge of the beach where you get to enjoy amazing views of the New York skyline.

You could also rent a paddle boat or a kayak and head out into the water or you could bring your own parasail and surfboard to ride on the calm bay waters. Additionally, there is a surplus of wildlife, unique birds, and plant life in the nearby surroundings if you are a nature lover. Close by you will find Fort Hancock where you can explore the Fort Hancock Museum, officer’s row, the battery buildings, the lighthouse, and much more.
